Charles Endler Johnson

Chuck Johnson is a member of the board of directors of Franklin Templeton Investments with $720B in AUM as of 31 December 2016. Mr. Johnson was formerly co-president of Franklin Resources, Inc. ("Franklin Templeton Investments"; NYSE: “BEN”), and CEO of Templeton Worldwide Inc. His responsibilities included global oversight of all portfolio management, information technology, product development and mergers and acquisitions.

While serving as CEO of Templeton, Mr. Johnson greatly expanded the firm’s global footprint, and opened over 20 new offices in locations including Taiwan, mainland China, India, Russia and Brazil.

Mr. Johnson received a Master’s of Business Administration from Harvard University Graduate School of Business in 1985, and a Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA in 1979. Mr. Johnson is also certified as a CPA by the California State Board of Accountancy.

Mr. Johnson also serves on the board of Franklin Resources, is the founder and a board member of The Addiction Education Society (a non-profit with the goal of educating high school students about the disease of addiction), as well as the advisory board of a Salvation Army rehabilitation centre based in South San Francisco.

John Winsell Davies is a global macro and emerging markets fund manager with worldwide experience in Beijing, Moscow, London, San Francisco, Singapore, and the CIS. He joined Tano in March 2015 from Machlin Oracle Ltd., (UK) where he worked as CIO.

Mr. Davies launched his career in 1995 with the Franklin Templeton organisation where he served as portfolio manager at Templeton Investment Counsel (Florida) and later managing director of Templeton GF Securities (China).

He has spent 20 years as chief investment officer and fund manager with the Alfa Group, Metropol, Wermuth, Diamond Age, Harvard Capital, and McKinley Capital. A macro strategist and EM authority, Mr. Davies attended the Thacher School, Universite’ de Grenoble, and is a graduate of Boston University.

Active throughout his career in charity work, he was co-chairman of the Auction Napa Valley, West End London Prison Liaison (HMP Wormwood Scrubs), Crisis at Christmas (team leader for the homeless), co-founder of the Mingachevir Refugee Project, and co-founder of the San Francisco Scholastics.

Pyari Menon

Mr. Menon joined Tano Capital in 2012. Prior to Tano, Mr. Menon spent 10 years as a sell side equities analyst at Credit-Suisse, Deutsche and Daiwa, covering technology, consumer and soft commodities sector in Asia. Besides working as a sell side analyst he has worked as an analyst at Intellectual Ventures, focusing on patent research in the energy and heavy engineering sectors.

Mr. Menon develops, implements and monitors investment strategies for the Tano global Macro Fund through analysis of different asset classes, industry groups and individual securities. He produces original investment research, and plays a lead role in portfolio construction, risk management, and overall asset allocation. Mr. Menon has an engineering degree from IIT Madras and an MBA from the University of Melbourne. Mr. Menon is based in Singapore.

Ernest Tan

Ernest Tan is involved in several of Tano’s investment initiatives but focuses most of his attention on new fund launch, research and marketing; leveraging his global operating experience in finance, operations, information technology, marketing, business development and project management. In 1997, Mr. Tan was a Director and co-founder of start-up, Gateway Container Corporation, San Francisco.

Subsequent to Gateway, Mr. Tan led a multi-million dollar technology project for Franklin Templeton Funds. From 1990 to 1996 Mr. Tan was based in Singapore as operations director for Genstar Container Corporation. He received a Bachelor of Art’s degree from Colgate University, completed internal management courses at GE Capital and has also studied at the Southwestern University of Law, Los Angeles. Mr. Tan is based in California. Mr Tan is responsible for ensuring that the fund operates according to approved fund characteristics and other risk guidelines on an ongoing basis.

Catherine B. Sapiro

Catherine Sapiro is the Chief Financial Officer at Tano Capital. She is primarily responsible for financial and tax reporting, as well as investor relations. Ms. Sapiro has over ten years of professional experience in private equity, hedge funds, and fund administration. Prior to joining Tano Capital, LLC in 2006, she worked at Thomas Weisel Partners and BISYS-RK Alternative Investment Services, Inc.

She earned a Bachelor of Art from Wellesley College; a Masters of Public Policy from the University of California, Los Angeles; and a Masters of Business Administration from Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Amod Desai

Amod Desai has been with Tano Capital since July 2014, working as an analyst on a range of investments from listed securities to private equity. He is responsible for U.S. long/short equity research and industry sector analysis.

Prior to working at Tano, Amod spent time as a business analyst at Aon Plc. as well as a credit analyst at Wallis Bank in Houston, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematical Economic Analysis from Rice University.

Amod is based in Tano Capital’s California office and his interests include traveling, playing competitive ultimate Frisbee, and participating in local humanitarian causes.

Peter Dabrowski

Peter Dabrowski is responsible for sourcing and managing early-stage global venture investments for Tano Ventures as well as private equity and strategic deals for Tano Capital. In addition, Peter serves on the Board of the U.S.-India Science and Technology Endowment Fund which was established to promote joint U.S.-Indian activities that lead to innovation and entrepreneurship through the application of science and technology.

He has over fifteen years of professional experience in technology strategy, private equity, investments and corporate finance and worked at a variety of companies, including Barclays Global Investors (Blackrock), Franklin Templeton Investments, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Peter is fluent in English and Polish, he earned an MBA in finance and economics from the University of Chicago in addition to a MS in Biomedical Engineering and Physics from the Wroclaw University of Technology in Poland.

He is an avid sailor, hiker and an amateur photographer. He lives with his wife and two children in San Francisco.

Candace Lyche

Candace Lyche joined Tano Capital in 2007. She is responsible for guiding Tano Capital’s regulatory compliance efforts, as well as interaction with state and federal regulatory authorities, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, the CFTC and NFA.

Candace received her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University.
